The Yuhua District People's Court in Changsha heard a case involving the use of AI to fabricate face videos for stealing bank cards. A college student, Wu, purchased a face-swapping tool, generated dynamic videos from static photos, and bypassed some banks' facial recognition verification systems, stealing over 50,000 yuan within four months. The fraud gang impersonated short video customer service representatives or game streamers, luring victims to download by offering to cancel fees or give gifts, forming a fraud chain.
